Students pursuing the Baritone need to be able to vibrate their lips inside of the large mouthpiece to create a sound. As long as they can tighten and loosen their lips to make high and low sounds, they should be successful with practice. Baritones require patience, perseverance, and “a good ear”. This means the student needs to be able to recognize whether the note they are playing is too high or low with ease and should adjust their lips accordingly.
