Elementary Band Informational Letter

You may choose one of the following instruments to play in 4th/5th grade:

 

Trumpet 

       

French Horn 

       

Trombone 

     

Baritone

Flute

Clarinet

Alto Saxophone

Bells (Xylophone)

How to Rent an Instrument

I highly recommend renting an instrument from the music store Robert M. Sides in State College.

Robert M. Sides is the only music store around that can offer the following:

​

• An Affordable/Reliable Rental Program

• Free Deliveries to the School

• Local/Quick Instrument Repair/Cleaning (Other music stores send instruments outside of the State to be repaired. It usually takes MONTHS for the instrument to return.)

• They offer students an instrument to borrow while their rental is being repaired/cleaned!

   I DO NOT recommend buying an instrument online. 

DO NOT BUY MENDINI OR CECILIA INSTRUMENTS.

These instruments only cause frustration. It will need repaired at some point and will most likely be irreparable.

I am more than happy to offer advice about particular brand names of instruments if you have a used one or know someone who is selling one.
